We are Mali Animal Sanctuary
Mali Animal Sanctuary is a dedicated refuge for stray and abandoned dogs located in Udon Thani, Thailand. Founded by Karl Fjeseth, the sanctuary provides life-saving care, shelter, and medical attention to dogs who would otherwise face a harsh and uncertain future.
What began as Karl nursing injured and sick pups back to health from a small townhouse has grown into a mission-driven sanctuary on rented land. Today, Mali Animal Sanctuary offers a peaceful, safe space for dogs to heal and recover while also addressing Thailand’s critical stray dog crisis through spaying, neutering, and vaccination efforts.

Our Story
How We Began:
The Journey So Far
The sanctuary is named “Mali” in memory of Karl’s late sister, Jasmine. After her passing, Karl left behind his successful career as an entrepreneur in Australia, placing his businesses into trusted hands.
Inspired to honour Jasmine’s legacy and driven by his deep love for animals, Karl devoted himself to creating a place where vulnerable dogs could receive the care, love, and second chance they deserve.
